The Karai Union of Malaya was founded in 1919 and registered under the Societies Enactment vide F.M.S. Gazette Notification No.2390 of 2nd June 1920. The Motto: "Absit Invidia" (Let there be no ill-will)
The primary objective of the Union shall be to promote the social and spiritual interests of it's members and the education of the people of Karainagar origin in Malaysia
In the early days, the Association assisted new Sri Lankan Tamil arrivals to Malaysia.
